Hawaiian Airlines new Business Class suites A330 2028
Hawaiian Airlines will expand Business Class and add a Premium Reserve cabin on its Airbus A330s, with a fleet-wide retrofit starting in 2028.

Hawaiian Airlines is introducing new Leihōkú Business Class suites and a Premium Reserve cabin on its Airbus A330 fleet, with rollout beginning in 2028. This marks the airline's first major long-haul cabin refresh in years, funded by Alaska Airlines as part of a broader premium push. The retrofit will cover all 24 of Hawaiian's A330 aircraft nose-to-tail, replacing the current 2-2-2 Business Class layout.
Business Class Details
The new Leihōkú suites are based on the Collins Aerospace Super Diamond platform and will be configured in a 1-2-1 layout. Every suite will have direct aisle access and a sliding privacy door. The seat converts to a fully flat bed and features a 19-inch 4K entertainment screen with Bluetooth headphone connectivity. Power options include wireless, USB-C, and AC outlets, with a dedicated spot for wireless phone charging in the armrest. Mid-cabin suites include a unique pass-through window that opens and closes. The design uses a warm, colorful night sky palette, and the name Leihōkú translates to 'lei of stars' in Hawaiian. Hotel-quality bedding and enhanced amenities will be available for booking starting next summer.
Cabin Expansion and Premium Economy
The Business Class cabin will expand from 18 to 22 suites per aircraft, positioned between doors 1 and 2. Immediately behind doors 2 will be a new 28-seat Premium Reserve cabin, Hawaiian's first premium economy product. The Premium Reserve seats will use the same platform as Alaska Airlines' version but without privacy wings. They offer more space than standard Economy, with 38 inches of pitch and slightly wider seats. Each Premium Reserve seat will have a 16-inch 4K OLED monitor with Bluetooth connectivity, plus AC power and USB-C charging. The existing extra-legroom Economy section, called Premium Class, will be retained.

Lounge and Ground Experience
A new 13,000-square-foot premium lounge is slated to open in early 2028 at Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. It will be located in the Mauka Concourse of Terminal 1 and will accommodate up to 200 guests. The lounge will feature locally-inspired food and beverages, a signature local coffee experience, and a full-service bar. Private workspaces will also be available for passengers. The first of Hawaiian's A330s will enter the hangar to start the retrofit program in 2028.
