Airbus delivered 57 aircraft in August, a 9% increase year-to-date, but remains behind the monthly pace needed to hit its target of 870 deliveries for

Airbus delivered 57 aircraft to 31 customers in August, securing 67 new orders. The European planemaker has now delivered 475 jets so far this year as it works toward an annual target of 870.
Deliveries in the first eight months of 2026 are 9% higher than the same period last year. Despite this growth, the current rate is insufficient. To reach its goal, Airbus must now deliver approximately 99 aircraft each month for the remainder of the year.
Narrowbody Jets Dominate August Output
The Airbus A321neo was the most delivered aircraft type in August, with 26 units handed over. Major recipients included China Eastern Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and easyJet. This brings the total A321neo deliveries for the year to 230.
The A320neo followed as the second most popular variant, with 16 deliveries last month. Airlines taking delivery included Lufthansa, British Airways, and easyJet. Year-to-date, Airbus has delivered 136 A320neo aircraft.
| Aircraft Model | August Deliveries | Year-to-Date Deliveries |
|---|---|---|
| A321neo | 26 | 230 |
| A320neo | 16 | 136 |
Widebody Deliveries Resume After Halt
Only four widebody aircraft were delivered in August. This followed a suspension earlier in the year caused by a lost tool in an A330's tail section. Deliveries officially resumed last month.
One Airbus A330-900 was delivered to Starlux Airlines. The other three widebodies were A350-1000 models, going to Qatar Airways, Starlux, and Philippine Airlines. So far in 2026, Airbus has delivered 11 A330s and 35 A350s.
Key Delivery Dates and Top Customers
August 14 was the busiest day for deliveries, with six aircraft handed over. Customers that day included Cathay Pacific, Jet2, and JetBlue. All were narrowbodies except for one Starlux A350-1000.
Five aircraft were delivered on August 27 to carriers including Turkish Airlines and American Airlines. The month ended with a flurry on August 31, when eight aircraft found new homes. Seven narrowbodies went to airlines like Qantas and Delta, and one widebody was delivered to Starlux.
IndiGo was the top customer for August, receiving five aircraft. Delta Air Lines and Wizz Air each took four new jets. Breeze Airways and Volaris each received three.
